According to Kerr this is a set of 3 surcharges. Kerr is not sure
about the village name but
T'ou-tao-kou seems the most likely.
This set does not appear in Chan. T'ou-tao-kou appears in Fisher but not on my maps. I can find towns called Santowkow and Laotowkow near Chientao (Yenki). There was a post office called T'ou-tao-kou in Hsinking so perhaps it was there.
These are the only stamps known for this location.
|These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.|
