This is a rubber chop, hand-stamped in soft black, this is the complete set of 6 stamps. The top four characters read 中國郵政 Chinese Post.

  This is a red surcharge on top of the previous black overprint. The red overprint reads 中國郵政 Chinese Post. 500, Temporary Use, 湯原 Tang Yuan. Kerr missed out the bottom two characters showing the town name when he made his sketch.  
         
         
   
         
  Identical to the above, hand-stamped in soft blue, this is the complete set of 3 stamps.

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
