It is possible that these stamps may also have been used at nearby Kerr 152. 寧 年 Ning Nien. Covers can be found with postmarks for both places. Kerr and Chan were probably unaware of this when they produced their catalogues. | ||||||||

Kerr and Chan both list two stamps for this town and each is said to have a pale blue surcharge. I can confirm that both exist in blue. However, while it is impossible to rule out forgery, it looks like other colours may exist as shown above. It would be interesting to know if any other collectors have similar copies. | ||||||||

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject. | ||||||||
