John Mosher

In 1978 John Mosher produced the book Japanese Post Offices in China and Manchuria, the publishers were Quaterman Publications Inc of Lawrence, Massachusetts, USA. This book specializes in the cancels used by Japanese post offices shows the evolution of many post offices in Manchuria and Northern China from 1883 onwards.

Japanese Post Offices in China and Manchuria, is not solely devoted to Manchukuo and the illustrations could be better. In his introduction he makes the remark "Philately spawns pedantry" even being aware of this he makes little effort to avoid this pitfall and so the book is dull reading, even so, it does contain nuggets of information you won't find anywhere else so it is worth owning a copy.
